Kaia is scarred for life, mentally and physically. When she was nine, a fire burned down her house. Getting stuck under a piece of falling wood, she was forced to watch her mother and father be burned alive. She was unable to do anything while her younger sister screamed for her to save her as she too, burned. Firefighters only got there in time to save Kaia, and thankfully, her older brother Max was at a friends house that night. Quickly put into foster care, the two siblings are separated within a week, Max getting a loving home while Kaia is seen as too much trouble. She is kicked to the streets by the woman supposed to take care of her, and forced to do what ever necessary to survive. Now seven years later, Max is a football player attending high school, and Kaia is a homeless girl fighting each day to stay alive. Will these two siblings lives ever connect again? Or will they forever remain without the other?
