Anemia was the first symptom, soon there wasn’t enough blood was around, killing thousands.
The first step in Nature’s pruning.
The headaches came next, ones strong enough to send grown men to the ground, begging and mewing like children. Suicide took one third of the population.
The second step….
Suddenly everything stopped, literally. Those who survived grew in pallor, their heart beats slowed to nearly nothing, the where still breathing, but became predator like. At first we thought it was the lack of oxygen, but a few knew better.
