"What is the appeal in being bound?" I looked up at Arthur in surprise, flushing darkly. I looked back into my lap when he glanced at me, still uncomfortable meeting his eyes. "It's not really the binding. It's giving someone else control. It's supposed to be about trusting someone enough to let them do whatever they want with you. Sophia didn't use it that way though." I chanced a look at him and found him quietly considering. He was curious. He tapped his fingers idly against the steering wheel as he thought. He suddenly pressed his lips together. "I don't know that I could do that. I like having the control. I've called it quits with lovers who were too aggressive." I huffed a mirthless laugh. "Well, in a perfect world, someone like me would find someone like you and live happily ever after. Unfortunately, the world is far from perfect." Arthur hummed in agreement and his tension melted away. This story is meant to parallel The Moon's Light and Moon's Reign. Both come after Moon Rise. It is written to make sense on its own, but it picks up abruptly and there is little character introduction.
