A Strange Tutor

Set during the events of Marvel's Civil War, Raven Queen is recommended by her friend Kai to study magic with someone who doesn't have a reputation for being a super villain like he does. Raven arrives at the Sanctum Sanctorum to be tutored in magic by Doctor Strange himself but even there her mother's curse seems to ruin her prospects.

Raven Queen is the daughter of the evil queen from Snow White's story and attends a school for future fairy-tale characters that expects them to follow the same story as their parents. Raven is a rebel because she wants to be a good character. This conflicts with the characters whose storybook happiness is assured and who adhere to their roles to achieve that goal. This includes Apple White who is the daughter of Raven's mother's enemy.

Kai Lawson is the name Loki took after meeting and falling in love with a mortal and trying to integrate into human society with her.
