"You don't have to stay away from me Nessa! I'm not the bad guy here" he says running his fingers through his hair exasperated.

I blink back my tears. It's for the best, I tried to remind myself.

"Whatever Ty. We're better off this way.. Derrick cares about me" I added that last part unable to meet his gaze.

"And you think I don't?" His voice sounded hurt.
