Vanessa's POV.

The sound of someone cussing out loudly made me jump out of bed.
I looked around the unfamiliar bedroom. It was dominated by the colours of white and grey.
I recalled everything that happened last night.
Derrick brought me home.
I suddenly felt alarmed. I slept in a man's bedroom that's not Tyler. I quickly looked underneath the covers at my clothes to see if they were still intact.

"He didn't touch me" I said out loud unconsciously.

"Well of course I didn't " Derrick chuckled While picking stuff up from the floor and looking at me amused.

I blushed. Can't believe I said that out loud. Well I didn't realise that he was right behind me.

"I made u breakfast..but as You can see.. romance just isn't cut out for me " he continued staring down at the shattered tea cup and spilled coffee and toast on d floor and he cussed some more.
I chuckled. He looked so cute. My eyes left his face and went down his body. He was wearing sweatpants and a white v neck Tee that clearly emphasized his muscled up body. I brought my eyes back up to look at his face and he was already staring at me.
He'd caught me checking him out. My face went crimson.
I decided to help him clean up the mess. But before I could get out of bed, he stopped me insisting that I wasn't strong enough to move around yet. I laid back down and he cleaned the place up.
After a while, he brought a towel, a toothbrush, and some clothes and he placed them on the bed beside me.

"Join me downstairs when you're ready. I'll have breakfast set by then. Can't trust myself climbing up the stairs again " he smiled.

"Thanks Derrick. Thanks for everything " I said reaching out to hold his hand.

"You're welcome. I really need to ring Tyler up soon though. He needs to know where you are. "

I nodded. "Not yet though. I don't think I can face him right now"

"I understand " he said as he released my hands and walked out the door.

***
" you really don't want me to call him?"
Derrick asked as we ate the sandwiches he made as replacement for the food he dropped earlier.

I shook my head.
"I'll talk to him later." I answered before sipping my latte.

" I was right though.." Derrick said.

"About what?"

"Tyler. He was the reason you got into that accident "

I inhaled deeply.
"Can we not talk about it Derrick? "

"He'd be worried sick over you though. "

"Derrick please.. I'm really grateful for your assistance but if I'm really that much of a bother, I'll leave " I snapped and dropped my sandwich on my plate.

He moved out of his seat that was opposite mine

"No Vanny.. I didn't mean it that way " his voice contrary to mine.. soft and sweet as he came to seat beside me. He took my hand into his and smiled at me revealing those perfect dimples.

His eyes Left mine and they roamed over my breasts which were very well hidden behind the white Tee shirt he gave to me. And they went on lower to the denim shorts I had on.

He sucked in a deep breath as if trying to control himself.

"If it were up to me, I'd keep you right here in my home and I'd never let anyone hurt you ever. "
his words were soft and his tone sent shivers down my spine.
I shifted in my seat not knowing how to reply to what he'd said.

"I'm sorry for snapping at you. I don't mean to be ungrateful. You came through for me when I needed help literally " I paused smiling as I pointed at my head that he'd fix up pretty nicely

"...and I really appreciate all you've done. I'm practically a stranger to you but you've never for once treated me as one. Thank you Derrick." I finished close to tears.

" Shh... come here" I was pulled into him arms immediately and I allowed my tears drop onto his shirt realizing how much my life has changed these past week.
