it was cold out and they would be glad for the reprieve in the form of the first bar they entered, eva thought, as they sat on a comfortable little table in the corner. and once their drinks arrived, she leaned forward on the table and smiled widely. "that was incredible. thanks for inviting me. you're a once in a lifetime talent. seriously!"

"ha, right?! you don't expect a guy like that to write such romantic lyrics." she was yet again captivated by the way jane ran her fingers through her hair, watching the way it settled back into the place and the careful way her fingers navigated the thoughtless movement. eva is a massive hypocrite, and she doesn't even mind it as she stares and has to consciously try and continue with their conversation. and then jane leaned even *closer*!!! jesus christ. "i was not a good singer. i was just shouting, that was the move. it wasn't a very popular band anyway, so luckily there's no evidence of its existence. so don't try digging for it!"

( @basstardchild ) "Oh, boy— I knew his time would come! And I'm happy to hear it... he always dreamed of a fairy tale kind of love, since we were silly teens! I've noticed the sparkle in his eyes— I knew something was going on! The lyrics do have a lot to tell, in that aspect... under those edgy, punk clothes, there's a huge, silly romantic!" she chuckled, running her fingers through her own hair to get it off her face. "...No way?! A Christian rock band?! Seriously?!" she leaned in closer, even more so. "Oh-my-god, I love it— you have a beautiful voice, I'm sure you're a great singer, too! ...Despite you trying to tell me otherwise," she grinned, taking another sip of her beer. "I would've definitely loved to hear it."

eva mirrored jane's movements with a teasing look, as if to lean into their gossiping because... well, it was so funny to discuss that shared link. "well, based on these songs and the look he gets on his face sometimes.... i couldn't possibly say! i'm trying not to intervene with it." she didn't know if tom was actually willing to be outed to people he didn't actually know, so she bit her tongue before saying anything on the bodyguard part of things. they both had things about themselves to discover! "you might not believe me but i was in a christian rock band in my teens. i can't even remember what we were called, but we were very cool and very edgy. i had some singing parts which were literally just me yelling into the microphone, it was awful. ha! you should've heard it. nowhere near as good at what i'm getting to do now."
