Nemoto frowned when he heard those words leave his son’s lips. You see, he had been a little agitated from Naoki bumping into him, but when he saw the wounds on his son, he decided to be a little less strict than usual. He softened up.

“...sure, Naoki... But aren’t you a little too old for hugs?” The male asked, holding out his arms to receive his son.

shukumei had always been missing from the hideout at certain points during the day , often not returning until midnight or a little afterwards .

however , when she arrived back , she would barely speak to anyone . she ' d just hold a small notebook and glance at it when she got nervous or something .

one day , she noticed that her notebook had gone missing , so she decided to ask her father about it .

" father ? " shuku walked over to him . the notebook was important because of her plans to run away from the hideout , to escape the bad reputation she had gotten all those years

" it was about me potentially running away .. " she crossed her arms , avoiding eye contact with her father . she knew about all the things he had been through and she knew that this wouldn ' t make anything any better .

“...you what? What were you about to say?” the Yakuza questioned sternly, eyes narrowing. He put his quirk into effect, so that his daughter would admit to him what she was about to say.

Nemoto cleared his throat, before he entered the room, taking off his mask without a word. The male still kept silent as he looked around, golden eyes scanning around the room.

It was almost as if he was looking for something to be out of place — but upon further inspection, he came to the conclusion that there was nothing different. Nemoto sighed, and then looked to his son.

“You’ve been acting differently, Naoki. Why is that?”

He didn’t activate his quirk as he uttered these words, as he wanted to see whether or not his son would be honest with him. Trust was very important to Nemoto, so if he couldn’t trust Naoki, then who /could/ he trust?
