HELLO EVERYONE! I'm sorry to be back like this for a while. I know this isn't my usual type of announcement, but I may not have joined the rally that happened right now in my country, but I have a voice. I will be using any available platforms to talk about the issues happening in my country—the Philippines.
What's happening in the Philippines hurts right now. Our government is using our people's tax money for their luxurious life instead of using it for what our country really needs. Flood control, projects that are unfinished, a proper healthcare system, and many more HAVE helped this country move forward, and people are just left to suffer.
The government is taking our taxes to buy unnecessary stuff and flaunting it on the internet while WE—THE CITIZENS of the Philippines—are experiencing nothing but crucial labor just for it to all be in vain. It feels like we've been betrayed by those who were supposed to serve us. It's just so unfair.
The government also doesn't improve the education system here because they are scared of educated people.
That alone says something bigger—but people are starting to be more woke; people are starting to realize what's happening. We deserve leaders who serve, not steal. We deserve a government that builds, not destroys.
And if those people in power cannot give us that, then they do not deserve the privilege of leading the nation. To those who say, "Wala na tayong magagawa" (There's nothing we can do now)," you're very wrong.
To my fellow Filipino readers, I know you want good governance and a better future for this country—where our leaders are honest, where money goes to the people and our country, and where we can trust those in power.
Change won't happen overnight, but it can with our voices.
