There comes a time when you have to stop crossing oceans for people who wouldn’t even jump puddles for you. Friendship is like a glass ornament. Once it's broken, it can rarely be put back together in exactly the same way. You would have thought that even when you drift away from that close group of people, you would still keep in touch. That they would cheer you up even in your darkest days. If you had friends that truly treasured your time with them they would still talk to you, a smile every now and and then, to show that they really cared and maybe still do. If they don't maybe they didn't really care as much as they could've. Remember, if they don't shed a tear for the good old days with you, don't cry for them; they're not even worth the tears that you cry.
But then again, saying that, you should also realise, in life we never lose friends; we only know who our true ones are. It takes, months, maybe even years, to build trust but only seconds to destroy it. True friendship is like a rose...we don't realise its value and beauty until it fades. Moving on is simple, but it's what you leave behind, that makes it difficult. I've lost people that I've held very dearly in my heart. It hurts, but I have to move on.
