sneak peek of tomorrow’s chapter of epiphany (serenity in camazotz au!) :)
          
          Holly then stared out through the opening of the cave at the desert before turning back to Serenity. "What about out there?"
          
          "It's just a desert. Sand forever."
          
          "You've searched it?"
          
          "Unfortunately," Serenity responded.
          
          "All of it?" Holly prodded.
          
          "It stretches on for a lot of miles, Holls."
          
          "So, no."
          
          Serenity's eyes widened, and she scrambled up once she noticed Holly started to put on her cloak. "Woah, Holly, wait. Let's think about this. I really think we should stay here and wait for Eleven — it's the safest thing to do."
          
          "I don't think Henry was bluffing when he said there's another way to get to you," Holly admitted, and Serenity frowned at the concern in her eyes. "We have to find a way out of here before that happens." Holly climbed to the top of the rock, staring down at Serenity. "You coming? or are you going to let a child head into the desert unsupervised?" She raised an eyebrow. "You are the babysitter, aren't you?"
          
          Serenity blinked, watching Holly start to climb down towards the desert. "Mike Wheeler incarnate. Jesus Christ." She shook her head fondly, her heart warming yet aching at the same time. "Stubborn little shit."
          
          Nevertheless, Serenity climbed up the rocks and followed after Holly. Because one, she was the babysitter, and no, she was not going to let Holly wander around by herself out there. And two, maybe it wasn't time to sit on the bench just yet. Maybe now wasn't the time to play it safe. She remembered the plan with setting the tunnels on fire, and how she had listened to her kids instead of Steve's plan of staying on the bench. Maybe Holly just wanted to be heard, and Serenity was more than willing to listen.

anyways in other news I’m still completely dumbfounded that we can just build rockets and send people up into space like how do you even go about building a rocket??? where do you start??? how do you become an astronaut??? I have so many questions and I’m literally in awe

@-JASONSGRACE LITERALLY SHOCKS ME OMG!!! i remember watching interstellar for the first time and then spending the next five years wanting to be an astronaut (then i came back to earth and decided i wanted to be an aerospace engineer) 
            note: i am not even near those career paths now i am a med student lmfao 
            BUT UGHHH it's so awesome how far the world has come regarding this considering it's only been like 65 years since the first person went to space
