hi im prob not the best person to be asked by this (bcs my books are not close even close to great) but these are my tips i wish my past self learned;
- pick a concept that is interesting in the demon slayer world. That would get the readers’ attention at your book! I mostly show that in the descriptions of my books bcs its the first thing a reader see
- AU or no? A ‘what-if’ scenario? a ‘missing’ scene? Isekai?: THERES SO MANY POSSIBILITIES FOR THESEEE. Dont stick to the original plotline, break it with intention!!!!!! THINK OF IT AS A MULTIVERSE! You can base off a hc u like, maybe even a crossover between fandoms? Ex. What if giyu died instead of sabito. If x reader: what if reader is a descendent of (powerful canon character that died), etc
- the characters: rarepairs!! Doesnt have to be a ship. Ever since i switch to other reading websites, i found out that i like rarepairs and them interacting, even tho they have little to no screentime in canon. I did this in one of my fanfics (*coughs kindred)
- dont be afraid to write simple. It doesnt have to be descriptive, poetic, mysterious all the time. Even less can make readers easily fall in love with ur style!!! You just have to get creative with it LMAOOO
- (character)!readers…..guilty pleasure to write tbh. Its also much easier for me to write the reader’s personality. Its also a ‘what if (character) was in this universe but its the reader?’ type situation!
Okay thats my tips:)) i kind of drift of the ‘good fanfic for demon slayer’ part but this is my general tips on how to write a good fanfic for any fandoms!:)
