SO! A lot of you have asked if the correctional facility (y/n) was sent to has anything to do with the Wammy's House DIRECTLY.
yes!! In my AU, Rodger Ruvie and Watari (Quillish Wammy) founded TWO institutions.
Wammy's House, school and home for gifted children, and the Ruvie institution of correction, home for young offenders.
Particularly, Rodger's institution was founded for troubled youth and juvenile offenders who had no other family (or unfit family) to rely on. It goes against the principles that both Rodger and Watari hold to leave these teens out on their own, so they founded a different kind of facility.
The reason that they instead hire a warden rather than personally oversee inmates is, well...put simply, The Wammys House is home to MUCH more promise, so they put personal energy into fostering greater potential. Instead of being a warden for a institution of 'non starters', they provide the funding and shape the programs necessary for soceital/social reintegration upon release. There are plenty of courses available - complete your GED, learn a trade...But overall, very hands-off kind of thing. When offenders complete their sentences and have shown effort into completing certain programs within the institution, they have the opportunity to have their records cleaned.
These kids did commit crimes after all, some of them fairly serious.
...However, while they do sign off on new inmates, rarely do they ever personally send an new inmate.
That only ever happens when one of thiers had something to do with it.
