This is a farewell to the app that I grew up on, the app that let me explore my passion for writing. And this is a farewell to all of you.
When I joined this app, nearly 5 years ago when I was just 12, I was in a really bad place. And this app got me through so much, and showed me the ways that I could be apart of these stories that filled me with such joy.
Thank you to ALL of my readers, especially to those that remember the books that are so old and irrelevant that’s I’ve unpublished them. All of you are the reason why I shined so bright and was so happy in 2017, all of you made my life better.
I am in a better place now. I’ve left public school and been in and out of different therapeutic schools, and now I’m at one that is really helping and one that I truly enjoy.
Within the past 5 years I’ve moved schools 4 times, cut out family members, lost my father, lost my best friend of 9 years, had a couple psych unit evaluations, wanted to die, said goodbye to 2 cats over the course of 3 months, was in several traumatizing relationships, all of that and more. But that’s not my point.
My point is that in these past 5 years I’ve also, realized who my true best friend is, traveled to 5 different countries, met two of my idols, found new people to idolize, made new obsessions, joined my first fandom, fell in love with countless fictional characters, read books that left me smiling for days, went to my first concert, went back to see that same band in concert again with my best friend, went to a new school and had 3 different guys fighting over me, registered to vote, fought for my rights, learned, taught, and listened.
The pros will always outweigh the cons.
If anyone is out there struggling, I’m telling you that things gets better.
