Here’s the start of a story that may or may not be written.
Broken'kit stared out the nursery. Rain was pouring down outside and the warriors were returning from a hunt. They dropped down warm rabbits and Broken'kit pricked her ears. "Get one for me, will you?" Thorn’flower grinned at Her. Broken’kit ducked her head, shivering and nodded. She ran as fast as she could to the prey pile then grabbed a rabbit. Rain plastered her fur down and she flattened her ear. Broken’kit, relieved to be back in the dry den, blinked the rain out of her lashes. She passed the rabbit to her mother. Thorn’flower nodded then bent down to eat, taking big bites.
“Can I have some?” Broken’kit said quietly.
Thorn’flower pretended not to hear. She ate on devouring the rabbit.
“Can I please have some?”
Thorn’flower looked up with an irritated expression. “No. I need this, I’m feeding you milk.”
Broken’kit looked at her paws disappointed. She lay down, licking her fur rhythmically. She imagined it was Thorn’flower licking her.
