Hey everyone, this is Ali/Milk. This message is regarding my place in the Dream SMP fandom. Recently, I've been losing interest. Because of all the drama in the MCYT community, I haven't been feeling a lot of motivation to work on characters, especially when I no longer know how I should feel about them. I know the character should be separate from the CC, but the actors are still a big part of them. I don't think I can work on a character when they've lost a lot of meaning to me.
I also have stopped following my previously loved content creators. Aside from Tommy and a few others, I've been trying to avoid most of the community because of all the drama. I've also not been interested in a lot of the new content; I've barely been watching streams or keeping updated on their lives.
The Dream SMP series/lore has been my main focus for a while now, but now that it has ended and the creators are going their separate ways, plus the problem with characters, I don't think I can find a good enough reason to continue writing. It has shaped a huge part of my life and I'm very grateful for the inspiration and happiness it (and community) has never failed to give me, but it's time for me to find new, fresher ideas.
I'm still going to finish the Icarus work, but I'm going to change a lot. After that, I'm not sure.

@-Sincerely-Milk- It's completely justified to let go of things like that, especially with what's been going on within the community. I'm sorry this was the primary reason you decided to let go, but I do think this is the right course of action, especially if it's negatively affecting your mental health. Losing interest in something you've been holding on to is hard, but sometimes it's for the better. And I'm here, if you do want to talk about it.

@-Sincerely-Milk- Valid. I myself have been feeling the same thing. I was actually scared to loose the DSMP, because what would I have after that? But with all this drama happening, it's been hard to truly stay focused. Like you, I will continue to be finishing the stories I do have, but I might be doing slightly different MYCT, or just purely going with Sonic. But I hope you can find a new fandom to become part of! People are complex, lol, but it's also what gave this fandom so much excitement; because it wasn't just a movie. I don't know if I'll find a similar vibe like that anywhere else.
