Part 1
Hello everyone.
I'm pretty everyone have heard about the thrist bots recently. If you haven't, basically there a couple thousand profiles on Wattpad that are tagging random people in their announcements to ask for online intercourse.
I would like to let everyone know that when reporting them, you get an automated message and then nothing else. This was the message I got:
"-The_Gay_Cupcake-,
Thanks for reaching out to us about the health of Wattpad’s community. We want to make sure users are allowed free expression, and can share their opinions with each other. Sometimes these comments might offend others, but aren’t a violation of the Code of Conduct, like sharing an opinion on a story, swearing, or even spoiling the plot.
While they may not be a violation of our policies, we’ve enabled all users with tools to help themselves. If you access Wattpad from the web, you can delete any comments and messages from your own stories and profile, and if you use the mute button, found under the “...” section of any profile, you can prevent a user from messaging you or commenting on your stories.
If an account has specifically targeted or attacked another user on Wattpad, or you feel the user is at risk, please report them directly by going to their profile and using the "..." on the top right hand side.
Best,
*Your Friendly Trust & Safety Robot*"
They're basically telling people that it is okay. There are thousands of these bots just tagging random people to ask for inappropriate things, with a, not to mention, scam website link, and they're telling us this is okay?
