getting it off my chest: i HATE HATE HATE when ff authors write y/n as this vulnerable, painfully broken, and honestly—dumb character. it just rubs me the wrong way. that’s the shit that drives me to write, portraying y/n as someone who can be defined by more than being protected or saved by the character she’s being shipped with. ya feel me?

i know exactly what you meannnn. sometimes they think giving the reader a bunch of painful experiences and trauma makes her “deep” but it doesn’t actually mean anything if she doesnt learn anything from it yk? half the time it doesnt even further the story

@NOCTURNESQUEFAWN UGHH SWEAR. i fear that was my issue with y attempt to read a lot of popular jean fics!! i just felt like. . y/n was so dumbed down. it physically pained me. 
            i was really like 'let me take this upon myself' cause i hate especially when the self-inserted view comes into play and i'm like "this is not like me at all" ugh sorry for the rambling but gahhdamn
