So much for the wip I had School is absolutely insane and takes up all my creative energy.. and energy in general so I apologize for not keeping up :( Really the only thing I use rn is discord, so i’d be willing to chat on that, but then you will be subject to nothing but me rambling about horses. Sooo, ty for the support and have an amazing day

@-YeehawMan- hmm, well, one engine failure could work. Pilots nowadays can land with one engine safely, as their training requires them to (I think). But then you’d have to fix the engine to get somewhere else. I’d say a double engine failure would work better, but it’s not guaranteed to land safely, like what happened with British Airways flight 38 and Cathay Pacific flight 780 (well the Cathay on was more like one engine didn’t work, and another didn’t work properly.) Both of them managed to land safely, but it’s not guaranteed. But I’m not sure if it could put out a plane permanently, so I’d go with double engine failure and just make the plane land in your short thing :) but- maybe once landing, destroy one of the landing gears or even the or the tail or the entire wing itself (maybe one of them falls off during landing? Or both… :3)

@Blitzkri4g ok, ty!! And yeah, what are reasons that could put a modern plane out-of-service, but still get it to land safely? I was writing a short thing and a plane travelled the Drake Passage, then I need an excuse for why it would be unusable for a return trip back to South America. I looked at ice crystallization, but I don’t think it would put the plane out permanently, and wouldn’t work when flying at a low altitude. Maybe sea spray freezing over, but I think the planes are able to combat that now.
