ആരണ്യകാണ്ഡത്തിലൂടേ എന്നെ ആരാധ്യദേവൻ തിരഞ്ഞോ (2)
നീറുന്ന ചിന്തകളോടെ  എന്നേ ശ്രീരാമദേവൻ തിരഞ്ഞോ (2)

ശിംശിപാ വൃക്ഷച്ചുവട്ടിൽ ഒരു 
ദു:ഖവുമായ് ഞാനിരുപ്പൂ (2)
ഗാനാമൃതം പകർന്നേകൂ 
നീയാ ഗാനത്തിലെഞ്ഞേ ഉറക്കൂ (2)

raagavilolane kando.. 

aaranyakaandathiloode...enne
aaraadhya devan thiranjo..
 neerunna chinthakalode ente
Sree-Rama devan thiranjo.. (raamayanakkili) 

shimsipaa vriksha chuvattil... oro 
dukhavumaay njan irippoo... 
gaanamrutham pakarnnekoo.. nee aa
gaanathil enne urakkoo...

(My crappy attempt in translating it:)

Ramayana bird, Myna bird,
Did you see the lotus-eyes (person?
Did you see (the one) like a melody?

Through the Aaranya kanda,
did the lord I worship search for me?
With burning(or flowing) thoughts, 
did my Lord Shree Ram search/wander?

Under the Shimshipa tree's shade,
I now linger in sorrow.
Spread the nectar of music,
Soothe me to sleep with that/your song.
