His name was Steve Burns . He was a little boy , who loved the color green . He let her go , and lied to his mother saying she was a dog . To keep her safe . Now she lives with him , as he grows into adulthood . Then once he’s in college , she greets Joe , his little brother . And Joe turns out to be almost just like Steve. Kind. So Joe cares for her. She’s eternally grateful for such kind people to free her from the cages .
