"will you?" there wasn't much that could harm a Fallen angel, much less one like lix - he wasn't especially powerful, just hardheaded and durable. then again, neither of those really counted for much these days.
@ofviruses "whoa there, man, you good?" lix asked, holding up his hands as if trying to placate the stranger. was this guy a demon? he didn't quite give off the same feel, but lix got ready to run anyways. demons usually weren't fond of lix, for a variety of reasons. he glanced over the rim of his sunglasses at the guy, quirking an eyebrow. "i mean, we've all been there before, but like... what's with the smoke, dude?"
*watch this man, and gather intel,* smithy’s bosses had told him. it had been three days, and he hadn’t managed to secure anything. except on the fourth night; he could have sworn he saw something... unearthly, in the man.
raising his camera up, he snapped a photo, but the forgotten flash bulb lit up the small street, and his target seemed to notice. smithy turned the camera away quickly, in attempt to keep this running smooth. *just another day in the office...*

@-castout taking the card, he examined it carefully. smithy still wasn’t certain just who lix was or why he’d been sent to watch him. maybe he should’ve asked more questions when he was handed the case. but he wasn’t the sort of agent to be insolent, and these things were routine. at least now, he had some sort of lead. “right, i’ll be sure to look you up,” he nodded, tucking the card away. “sorry i interrupted your walk. i guess i’ll be on my way.” \ HAHA! that made me chuckle— he’s very used to drawing links and speculating things, but he doesn’t have very much experience with the supernatural. he’ll probably definitely find some of the trails online and stuff you wrote about, so it could work!

"nice to meet you, smithy. cool name. yeah, guess we both know how that is, right? i gotta business card." lix pulled out a battered, worn wallet and shuffled the contents around before pulling out a gleaming rectangle of black cardstock, carefully printed in some official looking font with his name, number, and what he did - financial advising and stock market analysis. "here you are. i usually do an hourly call rate or something like that but it's really a case-by-case basis. feel free to call me anytime." // this is funny, bc lix hasn't paid any taxes in over seventy years - ix : yeah i tell people what to do with their money smithy : smithy : a tAX EVADER?? JAIL?? TAX EVASION??
