"i think i'll be okay," lix replied, looking at the smoke with a nonplussed expression. "will you?" there wasn't much that could harm a Fallen angel, much less one like lix - he wasn't especially powerful, just hardheaded and durable. then again, neither of those really counted for much these days.

"whoa there, man, you good?" lix asked, holding up his hands as if trying to placate the stranger. was this guy a demon? he didn't quite give off the same feel, but lix got ready to run anyways. demons usually weren't fond of lix, for a variety of reasons. he glanced over the rim of his sunglasses at the guy, quirking an eyebrow. "i mean, we've all been there before, but like... what's with the smoke, dude?"

"no worries. it was nice talking to you." lix shrugged and grinned. "nice to have a bit of excitement, y'know? not the first thing something like this has happened. have a nice night, dude." he wasn't sure why this guy was giving off such a weird feeling but lix suspected it wouldn't be the last time he'd run into him. sometimes it was nice to have inhuman intuition. sometimes it was a pain in the ass.

// oh nice! lix is definitely. an Experience lol

"oh, it sure is," lix said cheerfully. "nice to meet you, smithy. cool name. yeah, guess we both know how that is, right? i gotta business card." lix pulled out a battered, worn wallet and shuffled the contents around before pulling out a gleaming rectangle of black cardstock, carefully printed in some official looking font with his name, number, and what he did - financial advising and stock market analysis. "here you are. i usually do an hourly call rate or something like that but it's really a case-by-case basis. feel free to call me anytime."

// this is funny, bc lix hasn't paid any taxes in over seventy years -
ix : yeah i tell people what to do with their money

"sweet. you should hit me up when you do. i can already tell that you have great taste in photo candidates," lix said, laughing as he did. it wasn't hard to tell something was off about lix. between the way he looked, the way he carried himself, the mirrored sunglasses he always wore, and the fact that 'lookalikes' of him had been cropping up throughout history, there was something pretty suspicious about him. lix didn't mind; he'd honestly stopped caring about all that a while ago.

"me? financial advisor," lix said, flashing the man another white, even grin. "i tell people what to do with their money and then both me and the people get rich off it." it was a gross oversimplification, but when one had known the stock market as long as lix had, it was actually pretty easy. "never did introduce myself. i'm lix. tetrax," he said, extending a hand. "before you say anything, yeah, i know. it's biblical. and my dad's a real asshole."

// also as a general heads-up lix is one of my more swear-y characters so he cusses a lot more than i normally would / a lot of my other anons so if that makes you uncomfy or anything please feel free to lmk!!

huh. he was quick. lix was willing to play along, though for now. "i'm pretty easy to satisfy," lix said with a white, even grin. "no worries, dude. keep 'em, throw 'em out, burn 'em, i don't care." if demon hunters ever got their hands on them they'd probably start yelling about keeping cover and how easy it was to spot lix. he'd practically left a trail of evidence through the fifties and sixties, one made of film and grainy, monochrome photographs. "d'you, like, have a website or something?" lix asked, tilting his head as if he was interested. he had centuries of experience in reading people, and this guy... there was something weird about this guy. "or is it like... street performance. art? street art? performance art?"
