Remus kept the secret passages and the fact Sirius was a dog and could get into Hogwarts to Harry, even though he didn’t think he was innocent.
          
          Now just imagine for a second that Sirius actually did betray the potters Remus and his negligence could have got multiple people killed if Sirius was as mad as they say he was
