...and Britain's been planning to use him as a template for the AI that will be used in the future drone fighters that were still in development, essentially replacing him with dozen more fighters that didn't need sleep, didn't need sustenance, and flew as skillful as him. Will had a strong feeling this ace wasn't lying. What else did his superiors hide from him? Only thinking about the possibilities made him feel true fear, and true anger - he never agreed to be eventually replaced. He never agreed to wait for that fateful day to hang up his wings. So he carved his way out.
Will made an agreement with Desperado to get him out of Falklands. And so, in one fateful night, the base he was stationed in sounded an alert - they were under attack. As far as the unit knew, it was supposed to be an emergency sortie. Little did they know, Wyvern never joined the formation that night. He flew East, and never looked back. The next day, the technical specifications for the Harrier Prime were sold and shared in the private sector, sparking an outrage within the British Government, and marking Will as a traitor to the Crown.
His stint in Desperado consisted of different work than what he was used to, mainly intercepting enemy aircraft, disrupting supply lines and shutting down enemy surveillance. During the short amount of time, he contributed heavily to streamlining the logistics of the organization, eventually earning him the nickname HELM, named after the unique Foehn wind in England. Despite the fact that the missions he undertook fell under the Support category, he also took personal action against the AI-controlled drones that were on the rise, especially the ones that were modelled after him.
