okay i have a thing that i wanted to write a while ago but then i had another idea that’s kinda similar. this is it:
“alex knows what he’s doing isn’t normal, okay? in fact, he’s acutely aware of this and how it’s likely related to the trauma of being homeless for so long and yet, despite his entirely self-aware monologuing, he can’t stop hiding food underneath his bed.”
basically, alex compulsively steals food and hides it in his room because he believes ashdene ridge is not a permanent solution - he needs to be ready when they finally decide he’s not worth saving.
