It was time. The widow had / finally / tracked Barton down to an exact location and now it was time. He was responsible for the most important person in her life death and now he was going to suffer. He was going to feel an unimaginable pain just like Yelena had felt when the news about the death of her sestra had surfaced.

Yelena watched as the avenger lay prone with a set of binoculars aimed into someone’s apartment. Good, he was distracted. With a deep breath she flew, more like zip lined, into action. No words were spoken as she immediately began scuffling with the avenger. Just when she had got the upper hand and things had started going her way two others had decided to drop in. Great.

It wasn’t ideal but nothing she couldn’t handle. Yelena held her own against the other three and was doing well until the other archer decided to be a pain in the ass. Yelena had already spared her once by attaching the rope to her but this time Kate wouldn’t be so lucky.
Waiting for her to get close, Yelena once again gripped onto Kate and held her over her head, ready to throw her off the roof without any support of a rope this time until she heard something.

          A whistle.

No. She was just hearing things. She / had / to be just hearing things. Sestra wasn’t here anymore. Once again the faint sound of the familiar whistle was heard which immediately had Yelena scoping around the place once she had slammed Kate into the rooftop rather then throwing her off. “S - Sestra?” The words were whispered as she stupidly looked around for the one person she had been doing all this for. But no. She wasn’t here. She couldn’t be , right? Well she would’ve believed those words had she not seen the man she hated looking around to locate the sound as well.

@-Yelena // surprise i finally replied- it hits harder now that we know clint knows the whistle too

In her final moments, she had tried to accept her death. It was necessary, to save Clint, to save her families, all the people Thanos had taken .. especially her little sister. Who she'd lost in the Snap too, after spending months of relentless searching and refusing to accept she was /gone/. Gone because Natasha had failed to protect her, again. Even in her last moment, she smiled. Because it meant her sestra might get the chance to live the life she never got to have for herself, if the Avengers succeeded. She had no doubt that they would.

            And they did.

Being resurrected was never part of the plan. Death was permanent, at least, it was supposed to be. Natasha had defied that, and she still didn't understand why. Laying low was the best option, until news of her very sister tracking down her best friend had travelled to her: that was when she knew why she was back. To save Clint from the hands of a grieving Black Widow, and to save Yelena from the crushing weight of grief she carried on her shoulders.

The whistle came from her lips as soon as she stepped out onto that rooftop. It was the best way to get her sestra's attention in her bloodthirsty state. Slowly, Natasha stepped forward, out of the shadows. The hood that concealed her identity was slowly pushed down, eyes locking with Yelena's. "Маленький сестра … перемирие. [ little sister … truce ]." She spoke in a low, gentle tone.
