spoiler: whenever i mention chainsaw man it’s a spoiler trustttttt

haven’t been here in a while but i really want to yap about chainsaw man. i recently finished watching chainsaw man + reze arc and it was so interesting and nice. in the 1st season, the way mappa gives off a much more realistic vibe to csm was so different in a good way. and i really love the characters. reze and aki are by far my favs, aside from denji and power. and although i don’t like makima bc i do know her intentions (from multiple spoilers…) her character is so interesting it kinda draws me in (?) idk but fujimoto did a really good job of writing her as an antagonist. enigmatic and first appearing as a mysterious character, you later see her intentions which is very cruel i can say (lol), angel devil and kobeni are kinda like me, kobeni’s shy and kinda a coward (like me), yet definitely acts the most human, unlike aki who has big goals, kobeni just her siblings to have better lives (bc of her abusive family). angel devil who comes off as lazy, but i guess his point of ‘not wanting to work’ is very common around us. and reze’s theory of country mouse and city mouse was also pretty interesting for me. i should thank my brother for introducing csm, #chainsawmanchangeslives

idk why but i absolutely love cortis using ‘blue lips’ as a metaphor for exhaustion/ burn out. this song being about martin’s experience in bighit as a trainee, and using a swimming pool as another metaphor of him staying too long in it (aka his trainee days) and feeling exhausted by everything but still not willing to give up everything he’s done just makes me feel a bit sad imo. the lyric ‘while i’m drowning and drowning’ and ‘don’t wanna lose it’ is most likely of him saying that he’s willing to keep suffering (while i’m drowning and drowning) because he believes there will be a light of something rewarding in the end, so he doesn’t want to give up (don’t wanna lose it). trainees are getting much younger and since their trainee days usually starts at the teenage years, they need to sacrifice so much of their youth just to chase a dream when you don’t even know if it’s worth it, which is what james’s line is about: ‘this dream feels elusive, but what else do we got? this is what we choose’ another lyric ‘this life is such a thriller’ probably is talking about the thrill of becoming an idol one day, with many excitement and unpredictable things that could happen. and the outro of keonho and juhoon. omg. keonho’s line is most likely talking about he feels a sense of regret, but since he’s already put in so much effort into it, he’s willing to suffer (kinda like how there’s a rewarding end after every blood, sweat and tears they put in) overall, the whole metaphor of using ‘blue lips’ as exhaustion and suffering in their trainee days is just so beautiful to me. oh martin my sweet angel you’ve gone through a lot of suffering with the others just to become the popular cortis today <3
