───── you never owe anyone an explanation as to why you watch a certain show or movie. if you enjoy something then that’s what you enjoy and you shouldn’t be made to feel like it’s a crime. just because someone else may not like that piece of media doesn’t mean it’s not okay to watch it and find joy in it. being made to feel bad for simply watching a show is crazy work. this is why i sometimes find it hard to talk about my interests here because there’s always someone who has something negative to say. a comment someone made tonight made me remember that and it sucks because it was about a show that i’ve watched for years and have a different kind of relationship with because my mom and i used to watch it together and her and i don’t do that much anymore. please be kind to people because you never know what these things may mean to someone. there is such a thing as having a special or different kind of connection to a tv series or movie franchise, for whatever reason it may be. i just wanted to remind people of this because the comment i received and saw the person say to another person made me feel…i can’t even describe it. i wasn’t expecting for my night to turn negatively but i guess it has.

Also, I understand having a relationship with a show. I like rewatching shows that I have connected with in my younger days or movies my parents and I used to watch. Ain’t nothing wrong with rewatching a show you love or having a deep connection with something.
I also noticed the show was coming out w another season and yk that TikTok trend where the ppl are like “Who is out here watching one piece to keep this show going?” Or the food one where it’s like “WHO is out here eating Arby’s to keep it in business?” Yeah, that’s rlly all I was quoting.

───── how do people go about writing fics for medical shows (ex. grey’s anatomy, chicago med, the good doctor, etc)? like i would not know where to begin when it comes to the medical side of things, oof.

@-ncvermores I can confirm that it is a lot of research. I talk to my friends and their family who are in the medical field. Ex: paramedics, doctors, residents etc. A lot of research and no matter whether the procedures in Grey's or the other shows are accurate or not... I go with their knowledge of it, rather than the show most of the time. But that's just my way of doing it. I also read research papers that I can find online and eventually, I ask my friends to dumb it down for me, since I'm not in the medical field lol.
