thinking about david lynch today. actually, i think about him all the time </3
          	what’s your favorite film of his and why?

@-nighthawkss FWWM is insanity. Leaves me feeling off for a week after watching but I love it. Ah, that’s such an interesting topic for a thesis! funny, I feel Blue Velvet is pre Twin Peaks and Lost Highway is pre Mulholland Drive

@-starsailor yesyesyes! funny, i would say fire walk with me is my favorite. my girl laura lives in my head rent free and the movie just wrecked me. other than that though i would probably say mulholland drive! it was my first lynch film and the beginning of my love for him - like you said, there’s so much to it that it’s like watching it for the first time over and over again. that fine line between dreams and reality just speaks to me (and i’m actually considering writing my thesis about it!). but also maybe blue velvet? oh i don’t know, there’s simply too many to choose from ;))

@-nighthawkss Twin Peaks has my heart but that isn't a film and it's a collab, so I won't rave about that. But I love love Lost Highway. The dualities of people, the lighting, the erratic camera movements, and of course the soundtrack. The plot's so intricate I'm always finding new aspects each time I watch. I just love Lynch's character work and his look into the Americana life. What's your favorite Lynch film? (:

a few more excerpts from anna karenina because i physically cannot take this book;

          ‘it was unpleasant for her to read, that is, to follow the reflection of other people’s lives. she wanted too much to live herself.’

          ‘if there are as many minds as there are men, then there are as many kinds of love as there are hearts.’

          ‘she knew he had a heart, and because of this she was afraid of him.’

          and my personal favorite, which has murdered me in every possible way, ‘he kissed his palm in the place where she had touched him.’

@-nighthawkss loving it so far, and I haven’t even gotten to the best parts. Well, I am fighting through Levin’s part. Ready for the heartbreak Anna and Vronsky will put me through <33
