If you could do it all again, would you do anything different?
From the age of eighteen, I had known that my life wasn’t as normal as my parents had molded it to be. It made sense that these grand revelations would occur at the age of adulthood. In some ways, I’m grateful I had remained oblivious to my true history. My childhood was sweet, mundane. It included everything that it should’ve.
Would you do anything different?
I know now that the world isn’t what it seems. If you took a moment to look beyond the disguise, the incredibly mundane disguise, you’d see that our nightmares don’t just stay in our head. They roam around the same streets we grew up on.
In my life, there was pain. An intolerable amount of pain. Loss. Joy. Excitement. Grief. Love.
Would you do anything different?

But no, I wouldn’t do anything different. I wouldn’t change a moment of my life that led up to this excruciating fire.
When life offers you a dream so far beyond any of your expectations, it’s not reasonable to grieve when it comes to an end. I stared into the eyes of my family’s destruction with every intent to die. A wicked smile stretched the pale skin on his face as he witnessed my final breath.
