Update on Ziggy!
He is back and *almost* better than ever :)
He still has a few weeks until the scar fully heals and a few days til he’ll be able to walk without a limp, but other than that he’s his happy self!!
To everyone who kept him in their prayers, i truly thank you.

Everyone please keep my dog Ziggy in your prayers tonight. He went in for leg surgery just a few hours ago and he has to stay overnight at the vet. Thankfully we will get him back tomorrow morning, but please keep him in your prayers.

is it bad that the only reasons I’m looking forward to turning eighteen is 1. I get to move out and get away from my mother and 2. I will finally be able to get diagnosed with bdp? Literally no one, and I mean no one will diagnose me. my therapist, multiple doctors, psychiatrists, and psychologists bc “this could just be something to do with being a teenager and I don’t want to miss diagnosis you” even though i fit damn near every single characteristic. Someone tell me I’m not crazy.

As a psych major, I will say, there are certain diagnoses we try (and have) to wait until adulthood to make (like the DSM-5 has restrictions) because of how serious of a diagnosis it is and because it legit requires that symptoms and characteristics be THAT longstanding to be diagnosed. While BPD can be diagnosed in childhood and adolescents, it’s a diagnosis that we tend to avoid diagnosing under 18. So, there’s a little why. It’s not necessarily that you don’t fit the criteria, sometimes our hands are just tied unfortunately:(

No, you are completely valid with wanting to get a diagnosis. Getting a diagnose can be a literal life changing thing cause you get to see and understand your own body better. :/ I am sorry you are in a situation where your mum is not being in support of you
