“Do you think you can try speaking today? The doctor said they thought you should be healed enough now to start trying to talk.” The redhead asked, looking up at the other.

“I can only imagine.” She nodded.” You can talk to me whenever you’re ready. Don’t worry about it.” The redhead told him, voice soft.

"It feels odd talking." A frown crossed his expression. "I'll talk to you soon about things. Promise."

She nodded.” That’s alright. You can take as long as you need, John.” She assured him.” I’m here for you, whatever it is.”

[ he jumped. half-asleep from his slumber, the ‘ting’ of the shops bell shot him awake, items clattering on his desk as his hands rushed to stop them. ] oh— uh, we, we’re closed! … i think?

            * subject delta loomed in the doorway. what could only be described as a tired sigh left his mouth. he made his way to the snacks and picked up a random bunch of them in one of his large hands, seemingly ignoring what the man had said. *

"i'm not sick, silly." eleanor said. john couldn't remember if he had met lena, so he pushed aside that train of thought it didn't matter.
he made a warbling sound at the idea of being an alien. it was funny to him.
"we're people." the little girl said, smiling up at the girl.

a note of whalesong left him. he wasn't going to kill her, no.
a young girl with mint tinted skin came skipping along with a strange needle-like contraption in her hand. she stopped in her tracks and asked her father, "dad, who is that?"
he made a noise as if he were thinking. he didn't know. but she didn't seem like the other people around; the people who were violent.
he merely stared at lena through the porthole on the helmet he wore, trying to register if he recognized her or not.

subject delta's shoulders rose, tense, as she exclaimed. it was a tad too loud for his liking. he lowered the massive drill he held, as if to show that he wasn't hostile (now that he knew she didn't seem a threat) and made a crooning noise. he couldn't exactly speak in the shape he was in, so it was the best he could do to show he wasn't angry. he just hoped she understood by his body language.

“You again.” He laughed softly. “You gonna tell me your magical story this time?”

"well, i suppose i could tell you." john ran a hand over his face and sighed. he had a headache. "i know another john who has perfected time travel. he sent me here after i nearly died at sea. does that answer your question?"
