@gucciavocado78 || no worries !! here's a little rundown basically, it's just another story. but, the author makes the plot, amount of characters, and the readers create characters to insert into the story. the author then chooses the best fit characters they think will match the story and that creates the cast! when applying, you fill out a character form. this holds all the basic information about the characters and sometimes more depending on the story! it's like an application, hence the apply in the name. some authors use slots when making stories. it's a rundown of each open available character in the story. some characters require specific aspects like personality, job, powers, etc. the author will show all slots but some may be closed because of their oc. for example, my applyfic will have 8 characters with 7 open slots. hope this helped a little! ask any questions you need!
