how does one manage to convince someone not to commit pls give advice

@ -aquia  i hope it's not what I'm thinking and I hope I'm not late, but I think you should understand his / her / their motives first, then you have to make him/her/them understand that it is not the right choice that the people who care about him will be sad and stuff, and you need to say to him/her/they, that, what are that what they are trying to do will not solve anything and that it is not the solution to the problem, make sure it goes inside that thick skull that they have.
