can we normalize not using sa and abuse as a quick disturbing background for characters? like I would get it if the book is centered around the topics to raise awareness, but just for quick backstories I’m not for it
@-jellyfishies I feel like maybe if the author built off of it and incorporated it into how they act and think, and if they don't just gloss over it, it would be better. But I agree it shouldn't be quick bc it's kinda not it and unhelpful
i think a lot of authors use it as a pitying tactic for the character AND i think unless the characters trauma has lead to them acting a certain way in present situations there no real need for such a drastic backstory
every week it’s a new state I wanna move to, and I’ll be dead serious about it only to change my answer the next week but this time im serious abt Oregon, (why? Idk why not?!)
