Story time:
My little cousin loves the avengers, so I thought “hey, why not read her some fluff fics.” Welllll that was a terrible idea. She wanted me to read more and more. I don’t even know how many fluff one-shot books I finished. Anyways, when I realized how late it was from reading all day, I told her to sleep and I’ll read her more in the morning. Morning comes around and she just abruptly wakes me up and said “I had the best dream ever!”
I just stared at her with a confused and tired look the whole time she was telling me about her dream. Thankfully, after 5 minutes of rambling nonsense from the 12 y/o, she plopped down next to me and said, “I wish I could be in those stories with the avengers.” At this point, I honestly thought she was crazy but I said “I mean sure, why not? Use your imagination.”
And that is the story of why you should never introduce kids to heart-warming fan fiction.
