          Try posting your work on Writeon...AND, join scribblers http://scribblers.freeforums.net/.  Its a site that the folk from Authonomy (Harper Collins' writers site) are moving to.  They help those people will give you 'free' will be amazing (it quiet just now - authonomy is clossing in 3 weeks)
          Seriously - they'll edit - proof read - give genuine feedback - advice on publishing...just because they love to do it.  Changed my book, maded in way stronger.
