Chapter 1, part 2 of "like a hostage" is now republished! Compared to the last part, this one has many more changes to it. I wouldn't say that the storyline itself changed during this part but a big chunk of writing was definitely removed. Instead, it was replaced with new wording and added insight so I wouldn't say that a reader must reread this part, but I would encourage it so that future changes still make sense and feel natural. Anyway, I'm glad I had to the chance to republish this part today and I look forward to republishing the next part soon :)

Hi! It's been a while since I've last posted an announcement or anything for that matter. A lot has happened in the past few months that hasn't allowed me to truly find the time to write or be active on here in general but hopefully that can change at some point. For now, I simply wish to announce that I want to make some formatting changes to my current published story so that means that I will be temporarily unpublishing most of it's chapters. Well, I am technically unpublishing all of them however I'll be republishing the author's note, the preview and part one of chapter one within the next 30 mins. Usually I'd spread them out instead of posting a few at once but today is different compared to others out of the year, more specifically when it comes to this story so I have a huge urge to republish at least 3 parts of it before the day comes to an end. To be clear, most of the chapters will stay the same besides some extra/lessened wording and a change in format (tense). There will be about 1 or two chapters that will have a chunk taken out but I'll be clearer on them after they've been republished. That's all for now!

It’s rare for me to doubt my writing. I’m usually satisfied with the poems & short stories I write nowadays. It’s been a long time since I felt like others in my class write better than me. I’m not saying I think I write better they my classmates do. I think we’re on the same level, or at least I though. But today, I felt like others write much better than me & now that familiar feeling is surfacing. I want to be happy for their successes but my superiority complex is screaming at me. Especially cause it’s about the one thing I feel like I’m good at. 

I miss writing :’(

Almost done with an update but I’m currently trying to do an assignment where I have to write a poem in a specific manner so bare with me. About that poem tho, imma write about what happened to me yesterday morning. Basically I went to McDonald’s with a friend in the morning, before class & a homeless man went up to us to ask us for a dollar. When we said we didn’t have cash, he called us poor and laughed at us then left us alone. Despite how ironic it was, I think it’s worth writing about so imma see how that goes, then I’ll go back to finishing the current update I’m working on.

It’s stories like ‘the giver’ that anyways remind me why I wanted to be a writer ever since I was in middle school. Speaking of story writing, I wish I could find a faster writing process that works for me in order to speed up the pace in which I release chapters : (

          I posted chapter 2, part 4 & it’s past 1:30am right now… yeah sounds about right. I need to stop writing this late at night tho cause this is not good for my sleep schedule. Anyway, imma go knock out now, goodnight :)
