1-800-CLOSURE

RICHARD BRUNELLI

Richard is believed to be a tragic hero by some of his more "patriotic" sympathizers. He is the man responsible for the 1989 killings and the collapse of the Russian Mafia in Miami, recognized only by his letterman jacket and rooster mask. While people believed he took down the Russian Mafia as all part of a patriotic vigilante act, the main driving factor was vengeance. In 1986, his friend and former team leader, Nicke, was killed in a nuclear explosion that wiped San Francisco off the face of the earth.

While he may have been coerced by 50 Blessings (although believing it was the Mafia) to do the killings, it was mainly Richard's desire to settle the score that kept him going. That, and because he found it cathartic to hurt those who rightfully deserve it. "Jacket", at some point, survived what would've been a fatal gunshot wound to the head by another 50 Blessings agent, grazing his skull. Following a brief coma, he came to sometime in June of that year. His final act was storming the Russian Mafia's base of operations, and cutting the head of the snake once and for all.

Richard is a complicated man. Given his harsh upbringing, his festering anti-Russian sentiments, the trauma from his deployment in Hawaii, his grief of losing both Nicke and the girl he saved, it all resulted in a volatile mix of emotions. While he may seem like a blunt and more reserved person, he is always a bad day away from having violent outburst. After he has finally avenged his friend and has been acquitted thanks to some sympathizers in the jury, he struggles to find a reason to rebuild on top of the mountain of rubble that used to be his life. In this ever-changing cityscape of Miami, Richard remains a man who has mostly made peace with his past, but still yearns for some sort of CLOSURE.
