“Age is just a number. Maturity is what really matters in relationships. ‘The heart wants what the heart wants’ is a cliché that couldn't be more accurate. We truly can't help with whom we fall in love. Love doesn't care if someone is older or younger.” Plus there are relationships outside of fiction that have even more of an age gap, which I understand can be frowned upon by society, but I just love love and age, gender, race, height, etc, just doesn’t matter to me, it matters who the person really is. There are also many snarry fanfics that take place after Harry is 17/18 (the “legal” age) or where they are creatures that don’t age, such as vampires. So, it’s not an “illegal ship” and even in the US there is also an age of consent. I would understand if your argument was that Snape is Harry’s teacher, which would bother me in real life, but in the hogwarts universe, it doesn’t seem so unlikely or wrong. To me, at least. This is just my opinion and I completely respect if you disagree with me.
