breaking my silence: I've been thinking about this double standard when it comes to having a "type". Like, its usually fine if women say they want someone tall with abs and biceps, but when men say they prefer someone thinner, with long hair, or even from a certain ethnicity, it suddenly becomes a problem. Of course, not all men or women think like this, and I'm not saying anyone should get hate for their preferences. It just feels like, from what I've seen, men get called out more for having "unrealistic" types. Everyone's allowed to have preferences, but we shouldn’t normalize unrealistic standards or only criticize one group for it. This isn’t just about straight people either, it applies across different genders and orientations too. Sorry if this offends anyone but I just wanted to share my point of view.
