Do it now cast the spell, before anyone can tell! As the coin falls into the water, make one thing into another! Alchemy is science as well as art, we it guardians must do our part. Flitter about before night is done kidnap your victims and return anon.
The children into beasts we'll make, sheep, goats and dogs to tame. We'll turn all sadness into fear, say our magic words and dismiss mirth from the air.
Then out fear we conjure rage, reciting chanting, turning the page, and then it's time the magic circle must be done. Remove the hurdles in happiness must come.
We finish our timely spell with care, daylight has yet to visit here. So into the air we fade away leaving our spell book to greet the day.
NB. I love using metaphors when writing. This poem is about the writing process, specifically completing books you start. To many writers give up on their work!
