I seriously am not in a good mood right now.
Have you guys watched the news? The Kolkata r@pe case?
Well... It's such a shame how the judiciary system failed us like this.
Seriously as a girl child myself, I was told to follow all those social norms
"Don't wear short skirts to your friend's birthday party! People are gonna look at you"
"Don't speak with men, don't make eye contact with them, we don't know what they'll do to u."
I've been listening to this since 15 years of my life, and I know I'm young for you guys but still am very much educated than many others.
Today is our country's independence and you will see no hashtag trending in twitter regarding it, why you may ask, cause we women still haven't receive independence in this nation.
India is celebrating it's 78th Independence year but what was changed from then to now??? We still fight over which religion is superior in this nation without thinking about the fact we have other things to argue about...
For example our garbage education system, Unemployment, Sexual Assaults (both men and women), corrupted politicians and the list goes on....
But we never get clear justice, atleast until now and will never if the nation doesn't change and I want the upcoming youth to understand this,
Life is more than the Instagram filter, more than a twitter post, brutal than any social media so come back to reality and fight for justice.
We might celebrate our 78th Anniversary this year but at what cost??
This will be the question I will ask to the government when I have the chance to speak about this matter. #justiceformoumitadebnath
