if you agree with "if she pulls my hair, i'll pull her hijab!!!!", i am going to automatically assume you are islamophobic. as a hijabi myself, i know what it means and let me educate you!
if you think its harmless, why would you do it if you think there's no point? to cause her shame? would you rip a cross necklace off someone wearing a cross necklace? someone wearing a turban? what are you trying to achieve? if you answered no to those, you are quite blatantly saying you would only do such a heinous thing to a muslim woman, which is... guess what? ISLAMOPHOBIC. it's usually a lifelong practice. unconscious bias is real because if this was not, why was this statement not directed towards any other religious symbol? of course, if you don't believe in God, your views will obviously differ, but what happened to respecting others?
if you KNOW its going to cause harm, you know it is going to cause her more than just shame. girls usually have their hijabs secured with pins, usually several, speaking from experience as i use around 4-5 on different parts of it as well as hijab tape. trying to forcefully pull off their hijab could seriously injure them. i once had my hijab pulled off by accident during pe and the pins stabbed my head multiple times. it really does hurt (the person apologised multiple times and i forgave them because they really didn't mean it). these injuries include being stabbing or scratching the head with pins (as said before from a personal experience), pulling out hair, etc, which is arguably quite an exaggerated violent reaction for "self-defense". just the idea for targeting their hijab, KNOWING they'll be ashamed for showing their hair and knowing it could cause a much more serious injury than just having your hair tugged, doesn't sit right with me. it never will.
