Alright. Let’s be totally real for like, ten seconds. Get ready for the BRUTAL HONESTY.
Most fan-fictions are not good.
I know, I know, before anyone comes at me with pitch forks and torches, think about it.
They’re just poorly written stories (most of the time with no actual plot line) with our favorite band members’ names in them. Of freaking course we’d read it!
We totally disregard the terrible grammar mistakes, spelling errors, and lack in range of vocabulary.
Some authors even state they don’t proof read before publishing their story.
Why even publish if you’re not going to make an attempt to check yourself?
Real, living people will read it.
Honestly, being someone who has done this before, I can tell you that after spending so much time staring at a screen and submerging myself into this virtual way of socializing, sometimes I forget that these are actual, breathing humans I am talking to.
People who are looking for something fun to read with nothing better to do WILL FIND YOUR STORY and they WILL JUDGE YOU based on your lack of motivation to check yourself.
But the idea I’m trying to get across here is,
Please proof-read. If you really want to be a writer you have to always want to get better. You can’t hate your haters! They’re the ones that are straight up telling you what you shouldn’t do. Think of it as constructive criticism.
