James Hugh Comey is a freelance writer and the Writer-in-Residence at Stages of Imagination, a nonprofit entertainment and learning organization that he cofounded. He has written a novella, DEATH OF THE POET KING, and a mystical, coming of age enovel, UNCOMMON GLORY. He has had ten plays produced that have been seen by 200,000 children. He has converted six of his plays into CDs. Two have received a Parents' Choice Recommendation and a Parents' Choice Award. A film version of his play, WOODEN HEART, was awarded two Silver Telly Awards for Children's Programming and Children's Audience. His writing has been cited by the National Education Association, the Southern Poverty Law Center, and the PA Center for the Book. His book reviews have been published in national and international journals. He has taught from the middle school through the graduate school levels and holds a Doctor of Education degree from the University of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the Authors Guild and, when not writing, can be found riding his motorcycles on country roads outside Philadelphia, PA.
