Hi there. The name's Daniel. Some people call me Dan - I can't say as I really give a damn. Call me what you like, just don't call me late for dinner.
A few things about me:
I'm a crazed Whovian. And I mean crazed. I can't remember a day in the last month or two when I haven't watched at least one episode. My favorite Doctor is Jon Pertwee (Three - he's the one in my profile picture), my favorite companion is Romana II, and my favorite episode is THE GREEN DEATH. Closely followed by BLINK, CITY OF DEATH, THE DOCTOR'S DAUGHTER, GENESIS OF THE DALEKS, EARTHSHOCK, INFERNO, and a whole lot more episodes I'm too lazy to list.
I'm a competitive fencer - I've been doing it for five years now and don't think I'll stop anytime soon. I've won a few tournaments but I'm not in it for the medals. I'm only in it for the fun. And it's a lot of fun.
And I'm a huge music fan. I'll listen to pretty much anything but rap/hip-hop and modern autotuned pop. My favorite artists are The Beatles, The Beach Boys, Rush, Led Zeppelin, Coldplay, U2, The Who, Wishbone Ash, and The Yardbirds. Yeah, bit of an odd assortment there. What can I say - I'm kind of an odd guy.
Be warned - I'm a bit blunt. If I like something, I'll make no secret about it, but the same goes if I dislike something. I try not to start fights too much, but can't say as I'm always successful. My genes are working against me on that. I'm half Irish, one quarter Scottish, and one quarter German. So I'm a bit scrappy. I always say the Scottish part of me actively looks for fights, the Irish part gets me into them, and the German part sneakily plots revenge when I lose. Bottom line is I'm a pretty nice guy most of the time, but if you get me pissed off, you better run for cover.
My favorite thing to read is science fiction, but I'll give just about anything a try. As for writing, I'm mostly a non-fiction writer, but I love writing fiction when I have the ideas. Trying to get the ideas isn't easy for me tho.
