hey everyone ik this acc& the story lights out has been dead for ages but for those who wanted to know the ending: jill was the one blackmailing dan. jill dan and phil used to be friends back in uni and during a camping trip dan& jill had a really bad fight. things got violent & phil ended up involved. dan lost a lot of his memories esp from that night, got framed for things he didn’t do and jill got away with it bc of dans anger issues & drinking habits. as for phil he used to be mute and had his own trauma. witnessing the gore jill had displayed to dan aka his best friend, sent him into shock so bad he also lost memory / trauma but also developed d.i.d. Jill used to go by a different name and she looked different than how she looks present time in the story. When jill had discovered neither of them were dead she used her own wounds from that night to testify against dan (again as her old identity) & was pledged mentally insane so they admitted both him and phil to the institution they were in prior. After a few months Jill started getting scared at the thought their memories would come back and they would snitch on her, thats when she changed her identity, appearance and even dialect and got a job at the mental hospital to keep tabs on them and she would also occasionally mess with their meds. Bella just so happened to get into the mix. Her and jill were supposed to get into a brutal fight in the woods after getting lost with dan. To end it off, Jill tells Bella her backstory, Dan appears, overhears, therefore remembering everything. He starts to attack Jill so Bella tries to pull him off but Jill hits her head hard so shes in a daze on the ground. It transfers into Bellas pov as she witnesses Jill choking Dan. At this point I didn’t know if Dan should’ve remained alive or dead but Phil ends up finding them without them knowing and plunges a knife in Jills throat ultimately killing her. They all leave her there and run away starting life elsewhere.
