#. girl in the snow • intro aimsey coughed softly, tightening the grip of her sweater around her body. it did nothing against the cold of the winter air, but she loved to believe it did. as she walked, she happened to come upon a cabin… then another. and another. three cabins in the middle of the tundra. she tilted her head. that’s… odd. either way, she approached one, the one nearest to her. she let out a breath and gently knocked on the door. she hoped to god that whoever was in there was friendly.

technoblade paused , brows drawing closer together in careful consideration . letting a stranger into his home never seemed like the best of ideas , and he wasn ' t exactly known for being glowingly welcoming . but still - peering at the girl he didn ' t recognise , he found it hard to count her as any real kind of threat , shivering from the whirling snow as it was . " yup , figured as much . " he noted with a nod . it took techno several moments to further consider .
" fine . " he relented simply after a moment or two of peering out into the snow - he wasn ' t exactly a kind man , but hell , he couldn ' t say he didn't feel the slightest bit bad for the girl caught in the snow . " it ' s not much bother . wasn ' t doin ' much anyway . c ' mon , come in . " the warrior kicked the door open fully to allow the girl inside . " close the door behind you . " his hand finally left the handle of his sword , leaving it propped just inside the doorway once more as he turned away to the small kitchenette , near where the fire was burning in the fireplace . " you like tea ? i ' m makin ' some . it ' d probably do you good . y ' know , with the cold n all . " techno asked back over his shoulder , already getting out two tea cups , setting the kettle to boil .

( @4N4RCHY- ) the face who arrived at the door when it opened wasn’t one that immediately struck the girl as friendly, but it was something and something was better than nothing. “um… i guess? you can say that, yeah.” the welsh girl let out an awkward laugh. “sorry if i was bothering you… i just need a place to stay for now where i can wait out the blizzard. i’ll get out of your hair the moment i’m back on my feet, i promise.”

being in the middle of a snowy tundra had it ' s perks - it was quiet , out of the way , rarely attracted visitors - something an introvert like technoblade valued highly . usually , that ' s how it was . thus , the sudden knock against his front door was admittedly unexpected to the blade . techno hadn ' t been expecting anyone to visit - phil and ranboo knew to let themselves in by now - so , who could it be ? rising from where he had been reading an old novel on greek mythology beside the crackling fire at the hearth , techno had made his way to the door . his sword had been leaning just inside the doorway , so cracking the door open halfway , his free hand rested on the handle of the blade - a precaution ; he wasn ' t a well liked man , after all .
much to the blade ' s surprise , the face he saw peering from the other side was not anyone he recognised . he stared blankly , expression just about masking the bewilderment . " uhhhh . . . hello ? " his awkward greeting came out almost like a question , and techno cleared his throat quickly . " are you like , lost or somethin ' ? "

the warrior paused , momentarily taken aback . " eh ? " did techno really look that old ? besides the point . " i - i mean - uhhh - not quite right but - uh - i guess maybe uncle is closer - somethin ' like that , kid . " techno explained gently , reaching out to lightly pat the kid on the head - albeit slightly awkwardly - but at least he ' s trying .

it was only a moment before the child emerged from down the ladders , and techno took a moment to simply - look at him - when ranboo had said he had a child , that had been a shock on it ' s own , but seeing that very child in the flesh - well , techno was struck dumb for just a moment . " uhhh - yeah , i am . " techno wasn't exactly sure how to talk to children , but he put on a lopsided smile ( he hoped wouldn ' t look too scary - his smiles never did seem to inspire comfort ) and awkwardly lowered into a crouch - to bring himself closer to the kid ' s own height . " i ' m , uh - a - " he paused - was friend the right word ? " i ' m one of your dad ' s allies - ranboo , that is - not - not tubbo - but i guess he ' s . . . cool with me too , or whatever . "

Technoblade was , of course , not exactly known for his affinity with children . it was almost ironic that he had ended up being the one called in to babysit - when the one asking had been one of his few allies , dare he say , friend - he simply couldn ' t say no . that didn ' t mean techno was particularly excited for babysitting duty , though . the blade lingered outside the snowchester house awkwardly , before rapping a couple of knocks against the door - letting himself in a moment later . the blade awkwardly wiped his boots off on the doormat , peering around for the child he was supposed to be watching over . " uhhh . . . michael ? "
