I'm definitely too old to still be reading larry books, but they're my favorite!!  I used to think that they might've been together at some point, but now that we're all older, I just think that that was they're personalities. I still very much love the thought of them being together because they would be cute, but now it's more of a "I wish I could see that happen" rather than a "It happened and they were hiding it". Still one of my favorite OTP's and I'll always love reading the books!!
